This item threads into the engine block, and the oil filter then threads onto it. These are perfect for replacing damaged units, or deleting an oil cooler as you would when installing an Explorer engine in your Mustang.

Unlike the oddball 11mm Allen wrench the Ford part requires for installation, ours is 1/2" hex. Simply use a 1/2" bolt (like an intake bolt off of almost every Small Block Ford), thread a nut onto it, and turn it in with a 1/2" wrench. Easy!

nice part, thread pitch doesn't match Ford small block oil filters

Threads into the block just fine, high quality piece, but the filter threads don't match the standard Ford small block Motorcraft FL-1A filter. Should list in part description what filters it is compatible with.
