Bought the 2003-2006 BMW Z4 Convertible Top Latch Motor Gear Repair Kit 67618370816.

Unfortunately, the gear with the output spindles that are supposed to slip fit into the cables that drive the roof latches didn't fit. The spindle diameter was too large to fit in the supplied bushings AND was too large to fit into the cable ends. Consequently, I was only able to use the worm gear from the rebuild kit. My luck was that my car already had metal gears and the new (rebuild) worm gear mated with my old output gear (with properly sized spindles). After realizing the spindles problem, repair went easily and latch mechanism working well.
[Note: in the disassembly/reassemble process, discovered that the housing had been damaged and failed to hold the worm gear in proper alignment. Was able to craft a reinforcement for the housing so these metal gears should last.]

My convertible top was having issues with the latch motor, but after using this repair kit, it's working like new again. The kit contains all the necessary gears and components for a complete repair.
